How often do I change my pad or tampon?

Every 4 - 6 hours. NEVER have a tampon in longer than 8 hours.

How long should my period last?

Usually 3-7 days. It should come back every 25 - 30 days.

Track every day you bleed in your calendar with a small P. If your period is not regular or comes more often do ask for some help from a trusted adult. But in the first 2 years it is normal for period to be irregular.

What's not a normal period?

Bleeding too much. You need to change your pad or tampon every 1 - 2 hours.

Bleeding every month more than 7 days.

Severe pain. You need to skip school or sports.

Missing periods. They are irregular and very unpredictable.

Write down as much as you can in your diary about what you experience. Get some help, periods should not hold you back.
