25 products? Why 25?
25 products is the industry standard....we had to pick a number so we chose 25!
If you know you use way more than 25 products every month: At check out just increase the number of boxes to be 2 instead of 1. You will then get 50 products every month.*
If you think that 25 might not be quite enough: Check the box My period is irregular on the Set my Cycle page and you will be sent a one off additional box with your first order.*
If you know you use less than 25 products every month: Check the box My period is very light on the Set my Cycle page, you will then get a box of 25 delivered every 2 cycles.*
If you are not sure how many products you use: Go with 25 per cycle.*
*Remember you can easily amend your order next time: Skip a cycle if you find you have too many products or double up your order if you find 25 is not enough.
I am used to the terms Day / Night and Regular / Super, what is it with the drops?
The industry standard classification system is based on absorbency and expressed in drops. In our research the names Day and Night were highlighted by some young women to be misleading - many are heavier in the day than at night, the question was raised can a day be used at night and a night in the day? Similarly questions were raised around the terms regular and super.
We made a decision to simplify the terminology, start again and use the industry classification system of drops:
1 drop - panty liners
2 drops - regular tampons
3 drops - super tampons & day pads
4 drops - night pads

We will pick and pack your box the next working day. You can expect it to arrive within 7-10 working days.

What are Mondays' period products made of?
Our pads contain: Organic cotton, FSC certified cellulose with a Mater-Bi® barrier back sheet.
Our liners contain: Organic cotton with a Mater-Bi® barrier backsheet.
Our tampons contain: Organic cotton.
It is important to say our products DO NOT contain:
Plastic, 'Super Absorbant Polymers' (SAPs), dyes, synthetics, perfumes or chlorine.
What are other brands of period products made of?
Menstrual pads and liners from many of the best known brands contain something they call 'Super Absorbant Polymers' (SAPs) which are derived from crude oil, or polyester, polyethylene and polypropylene, none of which are biodegradable.
Not only does the manufacturing of these menstrual products result in the destruction of our ecosystem, but they also continue to harm our planet long after our lifetime. Leading brands of menstrual pads can take upwards of 450 years to biodegrade.
Tampons from many of the best known brands contain rayon and sometimes a rayon-cotton mix.
Rayon is a manufactured semi-synthetic fibre, the manufacture involves a heavy industrial and chemical process. Conventionally farmed cotton also damages our delicate eco-system due to the high usage of pesticides (15% of world pesticide use).
What are Mondays’ products packaged in?
The pads and panty liners have a siliconised paper backing strip and are wrapped in Mater-Bi® (see next question for more information).
The tampons have cardboard applicators and are packaged in paper.
The Mondays Box and the postal box are both made from FSC certified paper.
What is Mater-Bi®?
Mater-Bi® is a versatile and innovative material created by NOVAMONT whose properties and characteristics of use are very similar to those of traditional plastics, but at the same time, they are biodegradable and compostable according to the European standard UNI EN 13432
The essential components used for the production of Mater-Bi® are non-genetically modified corn starch and vegetable oils that are cultivated in Europe using conventional agricultural practices.
What is it about having plastic in period products, that is so bad?
The key here is what is left behind once you have used your period products…
Plastic takes at least 450 years to decompose…. and in a woman’s lifetime she uses on average 11,000 single-use plastic menstrual products!
The impact of plastic on our planet is huge, but we can do something:
Mondays' period products leave behind Zero plastic waste.
Plastic is not needed in our menstrual products…. PERIOD.
Aren't non-applicator (digital) tampons a more environmentally friendly option than applicator tampons?
All digital tampons are wrapped in plastic. A woman uses on average 11,000 period products in a lifetime so all that packaging adds up to a great deal of unnecessary single use plastic that will take 500+ years to biodegrade.
We only supply applicator tampons, as they are the only 100% plastic free option.
We know plenty of women prefer digital tampons, so watch this space...
There are some alternative menstrual products with far less environmental impact than even the best pads and tampons. Why not encourage the use of those alternative products?
At Mondays we want to make it easy for women, who want to use pads, panty liners and tampons (either alone or in combination with other products), to use environmentally friendly, plastic free products.
The period products of choice for the majority of women today are menstrual pads, panty liners and tampons.
That said, there are some great alternative menstrual products on the market and innovation in this sector is growing. We are very excited about the open discussions and developments that are starting to happen.
We would definitely encourage every girl and woman to explore and talk about their periods and use the type of products that they feel suit them and their life style best.
Every woman should be free to use period products of their choice every month and not sacrifice the future of our planet in the process.
